Robert Davison

City University of Hong Kong

Term: January 1, 2008 – December 31, 2011

Research Interests:

  • Action research and other interpretive research methods applied to organizational problem solving contexts. Also, multimethod research, especially where interpetive methods are involved.
  • Virtual collaboration, work, organizations, and knowledge management in organizational contexts. The use of different communication and collaboration tools.
  • Information systems research in China, particularly in organizational contexts.

Preferred Methodologies:

My current inclination is toward interpretivist research (with both qualitative and quantitative data), and in particular action research, but I am broadly familiar with positivist research methods (notably surveys). However, I am not trained in statistics, which I consider arcane and often impenetrable.
